how can i get more hp in my b16a2?
my car is a 95 dx civic 4 door, i know that is like kind of heavy, but i made the swap with an ls tranny, but i don't want taht noise from the muffler, i got the stock full dx exhaust with a loud muffler, im gonna put the stock muffler but i just want hear when vtec kicks in....what can i buy for it?
first of all, i would recommend getting a b16 or ITR tranny b/c the LS tranny has gears that are too long. Its killing your acceleration.
Then i would start with some bolt ons intake, header, exhaust....you can get a quiter muffler if you don't want it loud. But the gain is in the extra diameter piping, your not going to notice any differece with just a muffler on the stock piping.
Then maybe get an aftermarket (or ITR) intake manifold and bore your t/b out to 64mm.

i have a cold air intake, and a friend of mine gave me an stock full exhaust 00 civic si, that's 2"1/4 i think with the muffler, i have it right here in my home, but im not sure to install it yet,...
want to hear the vtech? cut your air conditioning on, windows up, new air filter, & cut your radio off..
but yeah, i would definitly try my best to get a itr tranny in there as soon as possible andrey.

if you are wanting to hear vtec engage, then change out from your stock intake to a ram air style or cold air intake... or you can remove the silencer for the intake box that is under the fender like a buddy did, and a drop in K&N and you can hear everything motor wise, acceleration, vtec, etc. and he still has stock exhaust. so all you hear is intake.

This would be a waste for 90% of the applications. Yeah the ITR IM gains like 3 HP but not until your way up there in the RPM. The B16 manifold has shorter runners giving better resonance in turn creating more power in the useful areas of the powerband. IMO the B16 IM is what should go on all B-series engines.

i would say that you should get an intake, header, exhaust, some ctr cams, with itr valvetrain, and tuned on hondata and you will make some decent power and have a very nice midrange!! but alot of your power is gonna come from picking the parts that work best together and TUNING will make those parts even that much better!!!
