+40 offset question on 01 accord
I recently purchased a set of Blitz type 01's and the offset is +40 from all that I can tell and I am wondering if this offset will be ok on my accord. The wheels are 17x8 as well.
Are you lowered at all? That will make a huge difference. I am in the same boat looking for new rims. I am lowered on H&R sports and I have been told that anything less than a +45 offset with rub when I have a full car. I am trying to avoid that.
Some people I've seen on the forums have gotten away with +42 offset on a 7 or 7.5 wheel (maybe rubbing on occasion) with a 1-2in drop.
But with a +40 on an 8in wide wheel, if you are lowered, I'd say you will rub.

I am lowered on H&R sports with Koni Yellows so I don't know. It will be a bit before I put them on and I may see if I can get a few millimeters machined off the wheels to drop it down some.
We show that you may need to roll the fender lips when using a 17x8 on the 01 Accord. That offset should be fine as long as you are willing to roll the fenders.
Yeah I am gonna roll the lips for sure. I think it will look awesome. Right now I am taking the wheels apart so I can polish the lip out really nice and painting the centers a new color. I have not decided what color yet but I am thinking gloss black or satin black. Opinions?

The only thing is that the wheels are used and they have some imperfections on the spokes and I don't like that, so I will probably end up blasting them and repainting or polishing them all the way out.
