I would like to get a FAQ going on which strut bar is the best. From the swivel ends to one piece strut bars. I will get some pics up of different strut bars and which would be best for the money. We can have everything from front, rear, C-piller, and so on.

best would be the cusco 3 point strut bar.

I have a ebay mugen knock off, I like it, worth the 40 bucks it cost.

 

I have Tanabe Front and Rear uppers. I like them. Paid $80/each last spring.

The stronger the better within a reasonable price range...

The 3-point bars are the best, but I don't want to pay for one, and IMO it takes up too much space anyways.

I have Skunk2 bars, they are super strong. I can stand on mine and they will not flex at all. Even witht the bar off the car it won't budge if I stand on it.

On the other hand, the cheap eBay bars, and even DC sports are much more flimsy then the Skunk2. They will flex a bit because they have a different design.

I personally like the Skunk2, the stronger the better. Some of the eBay bars are so flimsy I wonder if they do anything at all..

im getting the rear strut tower bar in alittle while too!!!

 

I have some shitty ebay ones I need to get rid of, they flex all over the place. I can grab it in the middle and bend it with my hand its so weak. Oh well it was like $80 for all 4.

 

I love the Si front bar I have on my Dx....I definitely noticed a difference handling wise.

I have a knock off type arggghh, bat in the back and it does a great job of keeping my sub in place. :D

i have a 3 point strut bar form password JDM and a 4 point in the back! And i have spoon tie bars! I love all of them! I have a ebay c piller bar with works great!!

 

Do all these bars give the car a rail ride or a stiffy?

 

i like my skunk 2 sway bars/strut bars. super strong.

 

PasswordJDM here, front and rear uppers. Ive used the skunk2s in the past and I like these a whole lot better.

The NRG bar that I sell on here is a good design for a street car. It looks like it uses swivel points, but if u look close, it doesnt. Swivel points also serve as flexing points, rendering the strut bar useless. This bar is an EXACT fit, and the bar itself is a 1-piece design, so if your frame is bent u cant use it. The great feature about this bar is that it is made from aluminum, and not only that, the mounts are made from aluminum as well. The cheap ebay ones use aluminum bars, but have heavy steel mounts. Anyways, this bar has great rigidity, its not as great as a 3 pt. bar for race cars, but it great for street cars that go for the occaisional mountain run or auto cross. And at $55 shipped, you cant go wrong, best bang for a cheap buck.

anybody have any experience w\ spoon upper strut bars and lower tie bars? i'd like to get some but want to know how they are first.

it is a part of the rest of the suspension component that helps strengthen the flex in the body. Yes it will help but you need the rest of the parts: bigger sway bars, bushings, coilovers/springs,etc... to make the car handle the way you want it. Also the material and design of each strut bar you choose determines how stiff the chassis will be.

For me I'll never get another adjustable strut bar. One of the weakest links in a strut bar is the adjustable end links. My choices for strut bars: Neuspeed & PasswordJdm 3 point or 2 point strut bar. Both are non-adjustable bars made with quality metal.

BTW yes a roll bar or cage will be better but it's not practical in a daily driver.

I personally got the Neuspeed for that reason. A good design if it isn't 1 piece is the plate style but as opposed to a pivot point it uses 2 bolts and the bar itself just has 2 elongated holes (like ovals) on eac end. The Neuspeed upper rear is made just like this.

Its kind of a bad pic but you can see the two bolts so you get the idea.

 

Stock SI/GSR/Itr is best to me as far as price and performance. One piece so nothing to flex plus you can normally pick them up pretty cheap, plus they look and fit like stock which is a plus in my book.

I am a fan of the Neuspeed bar, it is definetly one of the best. I am waiting to find a deal on one. I would never consider the strut bars with a swivel point. The whole point to a strut bar is to stablize, not to let it swivel and give. maybe im wrong, someone could try and disprove this.
