hello, im a noob when it comes to suspension lol. a week ago i installed skunk2 lowering springs with tokico blue struts. i decided to leave the rear left blown stock strut on (infamous control arm bolt that wont budge on DAs, even with massive torque impact wrench). but i replace the rest of the struts. the car is not lowered too much; there is still gap. no tires tucked here
the back rides just fine even with the blown strut still on, BUT: the front is so goddamn bouncy it feels like im riding a pogostick! on smooth roads its fine, but any shitty roads and im sure im hitting the bumpstops constantly
i think the springs give me a 2.25" drop front, 2" drop rear, is this too much of a drop to retain a halfway decent ride?
does anybody have these springs? i dont know anybody with these springs, but my friends 91 DA had the same shocks with some cheap *** ebay coilovers; his car was slammed but was still less bouncy than mine. i mean, for christs sake, i cant even take my favorite backroad curve at the same speed as i did with a completely stock suspension.
any help or information is very much appreciated.

Did you cut the bumpstops? 2.25" drop is pretty low and if you left them intact you could be hitting them.
Also, Tokico Blues are pure ****. I'm starting to think OEM Honda shocks have better performance. I tried them in the front of my car on Jackson Racing springs (1.5" drop) and Ground Controls (1" drop) and they bounced all over the place in both cases. This dude I know rides on 2.25" drop springs on stock shocks and his ride is perfectly smooth. The only place the Blues shine is over big potholes but low speed fine control over wavy surfaces is horrible.
I think the reason your rear is handling fine is because a blown strut still rides better than a new Tokico Blue.

Word. 2.25" is low, man. I think there's a good chance you'll blow those Tokico's shortly, if you continue to ride at that height. Raise the car up, you're not getting any handling benefits from slamming the car like that.

my initial thoughts:
-bumpstops cut?
-ride height too low for the damper which was made to be OEM replacements, not performance shocks.
-spring rate too high for shocks

i had h&r springs and tokios in the front of my DA and it was str8. i used to actually look for bumps cuz it was so smooth. i used to always get compliments on how well it rode even though the front was dropped about 2.25-5. maybe its the combination. some springs compliment the shocks differently. if your old struts werent blown try using them with the springs.

are these the orange things that are inside of the "shock" sleeve? i think i might try putting the stock struts back in. by the way, when i took out the front springs, both of them were broke in half, near the bottom. dont ask me how, but the car rode perfectly smooth. before this nightmare, of course

its not like i dont know that theyre technically called shocks. its just that lots of people call them struts. ive never heard of a shock tower bar

technically, theyre not struts, and shouldnt be called struts on a honda (except the late models).
so youre saying youre still using one old shock, and youre complaining about a bad ride? tokico blues are designed for stock shock replacement anyway. and i dont know what spring rate skunk2 lowering springs are, but i dont trust them anyway. theyre probably overly sprung. so honestly, its no surprise you dont like your ride.
ohjolt, whats up man? getting itchy over there in iraq?

one of the back shocks is oem. the back of my car rides perfectly fine; its the front thats shitty. my exhaust hangs pretty low even before my car was lowered; i havent hit my exhaust yet. i know, im a suspension noob, but you have to start somewhere.
