96 accord needs help...
hey guys im new to honda tech and i was just wondering about a couple of things about my 96 accord lx. I put 17-inch chrome rims on the car a year after i got it and i like them but its time for a change and im goin for a less flashy look. also i was looking at putting some money into my engine so weight was also an issue. so any suggestions would be great. also i was looking on ebay at headers and wondering if buying headers for $55 would be a smart purchase. i have heard that they suck if i do it i want to do it right. let me kno what i can do. any other help or suggestions would be great.
Let me tell you a little more about this car. Its an auto, 17" chrome rims(bling bling), and 3 fog lights. Hes trying to change it back to something decent with a lil more "umph". Hes not trying to beat anything special, just be better then the average car. We were just looking at some stock 16" rims off an Si and some other stock rims off ebay. Hes my roomate and were both in college so tools are hard to come by so engine swaps will be difficult unless its on a long weekend or something. Hell I have to call freinds to get the tools to swap BOV's on my car. Can you all post pics of your cars and list some mods that you would do to a car like this? Swapping to a 5 speed is gonna be alot of work so we would probably swap motors as well. Whats a cheap motor swap? Heres a pic of the car in question....
headers from ebay aren't worth a dime. non are except dc-sports really but even they only add a few horses. if you want to make real power its going to cost you
h22 swap or turbo. f22's are prime engine for boost because they are already low compression 8.8:1 but its better to start with a bigger base like the h22. but if you're lookin for just a little sound and a few horses aem V2 intake dc headers and exhaust you'll probably get 15-20 horses out of it. enough to have fun. i'm in school now to be a high-performance tech so you need to know anything let me know.

hey guys i was wondering if drop zone was a decent brand. i found a set of coilovers with shocks and all the hardware for $300. just wondering if it would be worth it for a lil drop and a litlle tighter ride??

if ur serious about boostin an h22, meaning u want to get more than 20whp fromt he turbo kit u bought, u need to do some extensive work on the block to make it handle more power than 6psi can put out. the FRM sleeves are crap on the h22, and thats what makes boosting the h22 not a good idea, so unless u have some cash to spend, boosting the h22 is not a good idea, unless u can tune at 8psi like pro.

hey thanks man, finally someoen straight out said boosting isnt good on h22, most just kept getting off subject (i even made a thread on it).. then im gonna go with my f22b2 boosted
Best thing to do is look at all the different threads here on the Accord forum. There are alot of different suspension discussions that I have seen recently.
As far as the dropzone/ebay crap, it is exactly that CRAP. If you are going to do something to your car do it the right way and do it once.
Only buy high quality name brand aftermarket parts.
Here is one on suspension.

As far as performance upgrades there is alot you can do, but for a good start I would get Intake Header and Exhaust
for intake AEM
Header DC Sports
Exhaust Apexi World sport
I know all this stuff costs alot of money, but the end result will speak for itself once you get it all done.
Good luck
