Default New Hatchback Owner

Hi everyone, my name's Justin. Let's see where to begin. Well basically i'm in love with honda's. Ever since I had my first car which was a '89 Honda Civic 4dr Sedan and I got that in 2000. I did every thing you could do the wrong way. Like cuttin springs and homemade intake stuff like that. It was my first car and i really didnt have the money to do stuff to it and wanted to do the stuff to it fast. Im impatient. Well the think ran good until i got my license suspended for 24 points in a year. And that was about 2 years ago. So i decided to sell it for a measely 500$. Now almost 2 years have past and I just bought a 1990 Honda Civic DX Hatchback. It has 243,000 miles on it and the body is in Good condition, basically grandma driven. Now to the point. I definitely wanna do a whole motor swap tranny in all. And i am also stocking up on new everything. I'm stripping the whole car apart this weekend. The engine i wanna go with is the B18A, and also i want to turbo charge it with a T3/T4 Stage 3. what i'm asking is if there is anyone out there that can help me with what I'll need. I'm looking for stuff along the lines of what tranny i should use (hydraulic or calbe), Brand suggestion on turbos, and also where I can order all this stuff. Suggestion's and Tips would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for my total dumbness to this whole thing but i'm basically new to the hole Tuner aspect, but I am absolutely dieing to learn everything about Import Tuners. Thank You.

Motor hmotorsonline.com, people say go hydro because of ease to find a decent tranny, your going to need motor mounts, Hasport makes some, going to need cable to hydro conversion, Hasport makes that also, you also might want to search. Alot can be learned with the search function. Take ya time and build it right, no shortcuts....

lets try to tackle this one part at a time, i hope i don't miss anything.

first, cable or hydro tranny.
cable trannys bolt in easier. what i mean by that is, their mount kits cost less. now, jdm b16 trannys are getting mighty hard to find in good shape, so some people see it as easier to buy a newer tranny, and spend more on the mount kit.
if you use a usdm integra tranny, it shouldn't be quite so hard to find.

The decision is yours.

Mount Kits:
there are many different manufatures of engine mount kits out there. They even vary in price quite a bit. The cheaper ones are sometimes poorly made, as in they don't hold the engine in the engine bay right (can damage stuff like cv joints, etc) and some break easier (less common, only worry about this if you're making gobs of horsepower).

some of the old school people who have been on this forum a while like to make their own mounts.
it's been a while since i've looked them up, but i think just about all the mounts between the 90-93 integra actually line up fine except for one.
as far as i know, hasport makes the only "good" hydro to cable conversion, but that's your decision.

Wiring: since your car is a DX it has to be rewired to support multi point fuel injection (mpfi). search this forum for guides to do it yourself. if you do it yourself and do it right (the guides will show you how, don't worry) you'll be able to brag you did it yourself, and the car will be more "yours."

however, if you're not willing to do that yourself, i believe rywire has good kits, etc.

If it were me, i'd wait on the turbo, convert it to obd1 (better resolution of fuel maps) and you get the idea. all i mean is, make sure the b18 you swap in is in good condition before boosting the hell out of it.

oh, and one final thing... nothing's wrong with a custom intake as long as it's done right, heh.
