I was searching a few sites online, and one of them mentioned a "body modification" company called Vitesse ( http://www.vitessesportscar.com/ ). I looked it over and I still can't decide what to make of it. Does anybody have the Vitesse body/conversion, and if so are you happy with the end product? I have searched, the archives only had two entries and nobody mentioned if they actually did this to their EF.

I do have this posted in the appearance forum, but I posted it in here because I am curious if this would have any adverse affect on the vehicle's center of gravity, rigidity and ease of work under the hood. I would assume that the cabrio model would have a better weight dispersal due to the removal of metal body panels up front and the convertable top in back. Does anybody have any additional insight to this strange item?

yea...i saw one of those crx's for sale on ebay years ago, when this kit first hit the market..... but yea please dont put your car through this... thats waay to much money to make your car look like a cheap toy/pocket version of a ferrari or something..

wow the things people come up with, and I thought I'd seen some crazy **** from that wide body car that was just in HT.

 

My hatch is my baby, there is no way in hell she will EVER get this treatment. There will NEVER be a kit on my hatch. I just figured I might be able to pick up a beater hatch and convert that for my other half. My wife really likes it (apparently she always wanted an MG, and we all know what POS they were/are), and if it gets her off my back I will do pretty much anything, know what I mean?

If I can get her off my back and have a reliable donor car like the Civic Hatch, I would feel alot better than some POS kit based on the Ford Escort or something else that likes to catch fire.

 

then get her a 4dr civic LX in white...16"rims and some tint and a nice system....and let her have fun in that....All the convienece of a honda and the Pimp status of NOT HAVING ANYTHING BUT HONDA.

 

she wants a ragtop, and I can't afford enough to spring for an S2000 for her when I want one for myself. the 4dr is nice, but nothing like what she wants.

 

maybe a new wife would be easier.

edit: those don't look too bad, actually. if you have the $$, and the wife likes it, why not go for it? those cars are pretty unique. HT is all about OEM(usdm) or JDM and very anti-bodykit (bodykit=rice=bad in most HT members minds, it seems) but in the end it is your car, your money, and your time that go into it, so do whatcha whatcha whatcha want.

I am of that anti body kit faction (you will never see any of that stuff on my car, personal opinion that Honda designed a car a certain way for a reason, why mess with it), but as you say if it makes her happy with looks and me happy with Honda quality I will indeed talk to her about getting it done.
