I've got some oxidation and "dry" spots on my carbon fiber hood that no wax or polish or fiberglass polish will help. I know I need to clear it, but what kinda price would joe paint shop charge?


Any chance of DIY'ng it? I'm good with a rattle can.

Hmmm, my coworker has a nice gun and my brother in law has a compressor at our house......those, a quart of clear, some plastic sheeting for a makeshift booth...and I might be able to pull it off. What kind of prep would I need? Wet sand with like 1500 grit maybe?

 

diy... me and my dad learned to paint and weve painted many cars now...and clearcoat is so forgiving.. if u get a run just sand it out

 

i just did a duckbill for a eg and it turned out awesome. Wet sanded it with 1000 lightly dont press hard. And then cleared it with nasons Clear (dupont) and wet sanded and buffed afterwards and it looked better than when new.
