Default Tranny compatibility???

Hey everybody. I'm a new member here and I have a question already. Nice site by the way. So my question is this....... I'm about to pick up a 92 Integra LS with a blown motor. I have a spare LS from a 98 in my backyard. Is the 98 motor compatible with the 92 trans? Thanks in advance.

I am putting a 98 LS motor into a stock 92 LS integra. Will the 92 trans mate up to the 98 motor and function correctly? My brother tells me that the 92 is a cable type trans and the 98 uses a hydraulic type trans? I'm new to hondas and what works with what. Is that specific enough? I don't know what else to say...

You have to get a adapter piece most likely, I've never had to worry with swapping, I've never blew my B18A before.

Anybody else??? I got the car last night. It's actually a 1990 Integra GS. It's all stock. I want to put in a stock 98 LS motor. Will the 98 motor work with the 90 trans?

Like I said, it will require a adaptor.

Shouldn't be too much trouble.

If you are just swapping the motor you don't need any adapter they will bolt right up no problem.

what the hell are you talking about?

the only differences are the temp sensor thats on the head on the 98 is on the back of the block on the left side of the oil filter on the 90... and of course you should use the 90 intake manifold and distributor so you have less wiring to do

brian

also use the driver side top mount from the 90 *piece that goes on block too i believe and also use the rest of the 90 mounts

damn, guys. come on...

yes, it will bolt up.
HOWEVER, you will need a hydro to cable conversion kit from hasport, as 94+ use hydraulic trannies and prior integras use cable transmissions.

sheesh.
