"A Fraud with a Good Point"
2005 Acura NSX 3.2 6-Spd MT
07/16/2005
By: Fraud
Owned: Less than 1 year
Review ID: #474353

6.9 Overall Rating
8 Styling
9 Performance
3 Interior
10 Quality
6 Recommendation

Pros:
no, I don't really own one but I have to chime in because of the people saying it's a deathtrap. That is probably the best selling point of this car is that it's a very fast sports car that is very safe. It's made of aluminum, not fiberglass like the corvette. Despite an engine that has less HP than an Accord Hybrid, it still get's to 60 under 5 sec, and is probably the best fuel economy of the exotic sports cars. Case and point, a friend was in one and rolled it. He was uninjured and the car just had bodywork needed. You would be dead in most other sports cars.

Cons:
Despite this I wouldn' buy one because it's a very tiny 2 seater. I saw a fat guy have to fight for 5 minutes to get out of a Viper and I imagine this can only be worse. The price is ghastly for what you get, especially when compared to Mercedes and Porshes of the same price. Lastly, it seems like the only people who buy this car do so in order to say that they own one, not for any reason other than that.

Overall Review:
This car is in a death spiral because it's handmade. Unlike other handmade sports cars (Aston-Martin, pre-Ford Jags, and Mazerati) the performance and luxury does not match the price, but the cost of hand-making them does not allow Honda to price it more competively. I say scrap the brand, come out with a similar but new sporty model, and factory produce it. Considering that there is no NSX options anyhow it would not be a big difference on the consumer end and the correction in price would make this very attractive for people thinking about that M3 but don't want to look like every other clown who buys one.

this is to his dumbass

this is one of the review from msn auto. i have so much to say about this &*%$er but i dont' kno how put it to words. if i do ill post it later.

but one of it for sure is: he's saying that the price shouldn't go up if the engine if hand make. WTF? his mom must of been drunk when she had him. thats one of the reason y it's expensive. it'll last longer and have very hi quality. very good car offcourse, sporty. this is best honda car they made so far.

other super cars like ferrari and others are a lot more expensive than nsx because its hand make and it has more hp. duh!!!! ......... dumbfuck

don't know the point of this thread, but read what it says again. He is saying that if the factory built it vs hand built it, the could drop the prices and have better competetion with other cars (i.e. the corvette). Since it was hand made, it cost more to produce vs machine made.

not flaming you, but what's the point of this thread?

oh no doubt...the NSX is amazing...but only the true enthusiast will recognize that. Why do you think the color chosen for the NSXR is white? everthing about the NSX is purpose built. the white helps keep the car cool, even if it comes down to 1 degree.

I think that the NSX is priced a little much. but that's why i'll get a used one. But because of the price, it went to the ones who really admire what the NSX is. Yes it could use more power, but that easily obtainable with a supercharger. The NSX was built as a well balanced car for an average driver. If it had more power it would be harder to control on turns as the tail will come out a lot more easier, again, for the average driver. The NSX is the only exotic that can be daily driven by someone with no experience driving an exotic.

So i beleived the NSX suceeded in all the goals Honda wanted to accomplished.

I just hope the next NSX that replaces the current one won't cut corners just to sell. I want to see what they promised. A ground breaking entrance like the original in 1990.

Because, years ago, each country was assigned a color to be used in racing events. (You've heard of "British Racing Green", right?) Guess what color was assigned to the Japanese team.

i assume the point he was trying to make was the reviewer knows jack crap about cars, and he'd rather play name brands vs the actual drive of the car. and he's trying to devalue the car and put it in the league of "mass produced" with the likes of vettes, mustangs, porsche.

nsx (3.2L) is going on 9 years old... and its STILL compared to new cars with 100+ hp over the nsx. yes it'll lose to them in some aspects, but the nsx still wins in others.

Yeah, I like the part where he says that the Viper is tough to get in and out of (for a fat person, no less), so the NSX must be worse. Idiot.

The worst part of this thread though is that the owner can't speak proper english.

The NSX was and still is a nice car. At one point, I had developed a very unhealthy NSX addiction BUT, even the staunchest NSX nuthugger would have to admit that it was somewhat overpriced. Forget all that handmade **** and in the end, you're shelling out 90 G's for a V6 albeit a jewel of an engine. There are just way too many cars for less that equal or exceed the NSX's performance.
