Default Why not to drive your R into a ditch, and a few questions.

Well Put the R into a ditch a few days ago. No major damage. Small crease in the Front bumber. Air resonater is cracked. Which brings me to a few questions. Does anyone have the part number for the OEM Honda JDM Front. Or know of a place that has one in stock. The other question is can the Comptech Icebox be used with the stock intake? Since I have to replace the resonater anyways. For a pic of the Front and A pic of what not to do to a Spoon Rim check out http://webpages.charter.net/2000ITR/Damage/ Warning to Dial-Ups. Pics are large.

If you need a resonator let me know. You pay for shipping and it's yours.

Yes, you can use the Icebox with the stock rubber elbow hosing.

Just wanted to say that your car looks pretty damn good. I saw the R parked in the lot when I got to work yesterday (Tues.) and noticed the front bumper was off it. I walked around it and saw the JDM conversion with CF hood - very nice!! Figured the owner did something crazy since the lower rad. support was covered in mud along with the front tires. BTW, what car are those steelies off of??

The steelies were just ordered from Tire Rack for my winter tires. As far as what happened I was taking on onramp onto the highway. Normally take it around 60 in dry weather no problem. It was raining and cold so took it around 40 or so. Didn't brake in the turn I know. But partway through the turn the rear end just broke out. Tried to correct but the front tires wouldn't get any traction either. A few seconds later go into the ditch at a fairly low speed at least.

I wonder how many JDM fronts have been bought through some kind of insurance fraud.

I mean, reading a post like this makes me want to go crack my front bumper and head lamps.. I wonder how many people do it.

i agree..fraud is gay too. when my front bumper got cracked in a fender bender... i just took it to the body shop to do the JDM.. and whatever the insurance gave the body shop to work it, I paid the difference for the cost of the JDM front parts. That's why I couldn't afford OEM HIDs But the Philips ones work damn good!

Buy this bad boy for use with your stock box, $37 shipped to your door It's my own custom "Icebox". I have a few available since I was forced to buy like 8 feet of the straight tubing:
