Default F23 into 5th gen hatch

what are your thoughts about dropping a F23 into a 5th gen hatch? i read that you can use a f22 mount. it bolts up and works just like a h22.

thoughts and discussion about the swap/

You can use the hasport mounts to put it in.

I think it would be unique and kick ***. I have one in an Accord and it's slow. The thing is the F23 has 150hp with 152 ft lbs of torque...in a lightweight hatch that much torque would kick all sorts of ***....

The only problem is youd run into problems trying to modify it from there. There really isnt an 'all motor' setup for an F series, but F's can take 10lbs of boost and love it....

It already has iron sleeving, so why not swap it and boost it? You can pick up a used engine for 500 bucks...try doing that with B H or K....

Don't H22 heads work on F-series blocks? I believe I have heard of this Frankenstein setup before, maybe consider that if you do swap in an F23.

nah. its too complicated. to have to do too much stuff. h series block n f series block are different. its 10x harder than any LS/VTEC

what you could do is get an F22...b2 I believe. I forget what variant of the F22, but it's JDM, it's a DOHC engine vs the SOHC, a lot cheaper than the H, and only makes 160hp, but its got the torque, and the DOHC tunability....

And iron sleeves are good for boost cause they're rigid and can handle the pressure when unsleeved blocks start exploding...

is there any other way to swap it in without using the aftermarket mounts?

the F23 is something to look for. cheaper than any B-Series. SOHC with torque. its crazy

but what would be the difficulties of swapping it in? would it be just like a H22? would i be able to use the F23 Axels?

it's the same as an h-series swap. H-series and F-series trannies are swappable. YOu can bolt any F tranny up to any H block and vice versa. With the sole exception to the f20c which is the s2000 motor. and we all know that you can't use a rear wheel drive transmission with a front wheel drive car
