Looks like an engine dampener to me. Sometimes called a stiffener as well. It connects the engine to the chassis to add stiffness and stability while hard-shifting. It will also add some vibration to the car overall.

if you have stiff mounts then its a waste of money. In fact I doubt you would need this unless you have old stock wornout mounts and too much power. my motor doesn't move at all. place racing mounts.

 

ive only seen em made for the 92 and higher models...seriously unless it is a track car u dont need it...we installed one on the homies turbo ej coupe and we took it off after we drove the car...it didnt even make a noticable difference....we were able to launch it a little higher but nor much maybe like 300 rpm over what we were launching it at before...other than that it was a waste of time and money...i think he payed like 100 for it, or sum ridiculous amount...
