Chipped P28 w/B18C swap?
I'm planning on using a chipped P28 with my B18C. Is this a common and a good setup? The chip will be the FF Special 1 from JDMHondaparts.com. They says it a base Mugen program tweaked a bit. Anyone have any Input or opinions, etc, etc.
ur getting the mugen program dont believe the hype, and yes this is a common setup, meaning using a chipped P28 (civic ex ecu) in a b series. Have fun
naw i mean its a copy of the mugen program dont get me wrong, but most likely how they hype it up and say the tweaked it isnt true thats all im saying
Most of the aftermarket ECU programs I've seen eliminate the K.S. and I'll be using a Skunk2 IM. Do you know why they eliminate the K.S.? Thanks.

use the P28 ECU. the ECU does not open the secondary butterflies on a GSR manifold. its vacuum. so whether u have a GSR ECU or another ECU, the secondaries will open.

You can use a RPM activated switch or VTEC controller to control the butterflies if you use the P28 ecu.

ok, let put it this way. i installed a 00 B16 block w/ 98 GSR head on it. hooked everything up (had to T the vacuum line goin into the back of the manifold), didnt have the right ECU at the time. used the stock VX ECU and viola, secondaries kick in, go figure.

Yeah, they were always open. They are controlled by the ECU. Maybe you were mistaking VTEC for the secondairies opening? VTEC is at 4400 and the secondairies open @ 5700.

there is no way the VX could control the butterflies unless, further modification takes place
back to the original topic, get the chipped P28. the only thing is that you have to decide what program you want. www.locashracing.com also does the ecu programming and he has tons of programs. i also think that kenji on this board does them (not sure though). the new ecu will wake your car up like no other, just decide on what program is right for you.

Just to let you all know. I decided to go with the Skunk2 mapping from locash racing with a 8800 rev. limiter and vtec at 5200.
chipped p28 with a b18c swap . should be good , but im not to crazy of running a mugen program spec, i use to have similar to mugen program and it runs way to rich in some parts and less gas miles .now im running ericks racing custom program and is good performance and also better gas milage
