I was driving last night and noticed a noise from under my dash from 3550-3650 RPMs. It's like a sporatic plastic on metal noise. Goes fast then slows down and so on, kinda hard to explain. It's definitly coming from the driver side as well. I don't have any type of climate control in the car, it's gutted under the dash, but I do have my MSD box and SS coil under there. The setup I have is a Dart block with Eagle crank and rods with CP pistons. I don't think the noise is coming from the engine because I had someone hold it at 3600 and couldn't hear anything. There is no heat shield or anything under the car. it's a HyTech header straight to a Buddy Club Spec II exhaust. Any suggestions on what to check or what may make this noise? TIA.

When you removed the climate control did you remove the airbox as well? Check to make sure the dash is not rattling, common problem when screws are left out of it.

 

Yea, it's ALL out, eveything possible. It's weird, just does it at that RPM...
