Default temp guage fluctuating?

hey ive got a 96 integra gsr. no engine modifications and 101,500 miles. my temperature guage is fluctuating constantly. whether at high revs or low it doesnt matter. car doesnt overheat but the guage goes from cool to hot back and forth while engine is running. any answers to why this is happening? thanks.

Check out your coolant sensor. Its the sensor that is right next to your thermostat.

could be because of your radiator fan...kicks on when it hits the right temp...then cools it down...but im not sure..my fan comes on but my tem gauge don't fluctuate.

I've got a 95 GSR and mine's been doing this lately too. I just had some Enjo motor mounts put in and it's done that since... I noticed my radiator tank was empty and filled that back up before I came to work, not sure if this'll do the trick or not, but I';m definately interested in what you find out.

It definitely should not be doing that. The temp needle should stay pegged just below half, whether moving or stopped, fans running or not, assuming the fans and thermostat are working properly. If it moves around while driving, I would suspect a signal problem, i.e. coolant temp sensor.

Alright, I just noticed my heater doesn't work now either... Should I check the thermostat or what?

No heat means no coolant is coming through the heater core. Is there by any chance a wet spot on the passenger floor board?
