Somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2. Closer to the 1/2. I'd say around 3/8
On my EM1 it sits right at the 1/2 point

is it possible that cleaning the temp sensor would help without replacing it first

If the heater is barely getting warm, maybe the radiator or heater core is partially clogged

That has nothing to do with how warm your heater core gets. I'm going to guess that you have a clogged (or partially clogged at least) heater core. Replace it and enjoy the heat.

the reason i'm thinking sensor is cause my car doesn't get passed 1/4 op temp, usualy right below i recently swapped a blown engine and i flushed it then and changed the thermostat

As I already said, the sensor has NOTHING to do with your heat.

I honestly wouldn't worry about it.
