hi i am sara. I have a 95 civic ex coupe with i/e. recently the car has had a very dangerous problem. the throttle sticks and the engine will redline while i am driving but the automatic tranny wont shift to the next gearl. the engine just revs to the red zone and and bounces the tach until i turn off the car. last time it happened i was leraving work and took the engine to 4k rpm. the engine raced and began bouncing the tach. when i turned off my car there was a huge smoke cloud. please help me i love my car and i know its in pain.

 

sounds like you have a bad tranny. maybe the clutch packs are slipping. and your throttle sticking?! thats scary!! lol. find a guy to help you and get him to check your throttle cable. maybe it has gunk on it. and your problem with the redlining my guess is its the tranny but i could be wrong. and a huge cloud of smoke?! damn that sounds bad. lol. maybe its time for a new car. or a new motor. $1700 should get u another low mileage motor and tranny INSTALLED. on ur car.
