speedtrials you mean? i was there. the config we ran was #13 CW. anything under 2:20 is decent, 2:15 is pretty fast. 2:10 very fast. sub 2:10's = VERY fast.

i took my sister's bone stock 00 bmw 323i 4dr. it's not very fast. i did push it around pretty hard for abit. no clue of lap times.

my friend eddy/lawrence/bill had their black EK race car out (kinda beat up from the NASA 12 hour enduro event in Dec.). eddy turn 2:11. that's pretty good times.

katman (FF squad)'s took it pretty easy for some reason, he got some 2:22's laps. i guess he didn't get comfortable for the day. too many spins and that wrecked m3 might've gave him some creeps. i took his car out in the last session, pushing it pretty hard. i'd say 2:15 or faster easily... his car is very fun. JIC suspension is pretty soft. AVS-i's are pretty good tho not as good as KD's nor Azenis.

i didn't really time anyone else...

SpeedPak and I were there with his FBP ITR! There was like a spin or two each session. I even spun coming off of "Magic Mountain We had lots of fun though!

We left before the M3 flipped and I heard an "instructor" was driving it? Any details?

Since I was the one who "drove" the flipped M3 off the track while being towed, I'll tell you what happened. The driver of the flipped M3 is some kid driving daddy's car whose dad thinks he was at a BBQ. Driver lost control of the car coming out of magic mountain, tried to correct, slid into dirt several feet, tires dug into the dirt, and flipped the car. Obviously, the driver and passenger were shaken up but nothing major. They should have felt the effects of the roll the next morning

Warren, the driver of the tow vehicle, cleverly towed the car just out to the front gate of the track entrance so the track could close on time properly without having to wait for the tow truck. Way to go Warren!

Another reason to tow the car off the track is for insurance purposes. The insurance company sees the location of the tow, and it's better to have it say that it's from the side of some road than "______ raceway" or something. This way people can also use the "something jumped out in front of me and I swerved to avoid it" excuse.

Edit:
On January 26th at the Wurth Motorsports event a Z06 with slicks ran a 2:00 or 2:01 - that was the fastest time of the day. It may have been modded other than the slicks.

The 1/26/02 Wurth event was config #1 CW. Basically same as #13 CW except using the star mazda turn vs. sweeper. #1 is about 5 sec or maybe a little more over #13.

James Gunn in that Z06 Vette ran 2:01.974 to be exact, smoking times. He is a VERY quick driver. The car is stock except for huge (atleast 9.5" wide) sports car slicks and some good shocks. He ran a different Z06 (also stock, with slicks and shocks) at Willow Springs big track and pulled 1:29's. That's also very fast.

My del Sol ran 2:17 on #1 config that day (sat, dry) on BFG KD's with mushy pedals and tired motor.
