Default 32mm spindle nut, how much torque?

Since I don't have my Helms laying around:
How much torque must the 32mm spindle nut be torqued with?

I understand it's important for the wheel bearing that this nut is torqued to spec....

Remember to properly stake it too.

i would think tightening it pretty much as hard as you can will be enough torque.

ive done that all a lot of cars ive worked on.

dont think things like that need to be torque.
its kinda like torqing down your valve cover bolts

importance of valve cover bolt torque=importance spindle nut torque?

You must be good at replacing wheel bearings.

I'm gonna have to agree with baonest on this one. With the axle in place, that nut is just making sure everything's not falling apart. It's not like you'd want to put additional stress on the bearing beyond keeping it from falling out or something.

Replace it - dont just reuse it and torque it down. I replace mine 2x a year usually.

I do 6-10 of these a week atleast. I always put my aw480q on max power and torque for 5 seconds or so. IMO safe is better than sorry.

Don't know about you guys, but I usually put a little grease on the bottom of the nut(not on the threads), so that I can torque it down more accurately.

S2k's have this clicking-problem caused by an improperly torqued spindle nut. The fix was, tightening the nut to 220 lb/ft(not 100% sure of the figure). To make sure that 100% of the proper torque was applied, a little bit of grease was applied to the bottom part of the nut, where it makes contact with the hub. That way, the friction caused by the two parts rubbing together didn't affect the torque application. Hope that makes sense.
