Default Any tips for removing Clear coat?

Recently purchased a 93 accord. The clear coat is pealing on the hood and roof of the car. What kind of sand paper and techniques do I use to successuflly remove the clear coat so that I can re/clear it

Thanks in advance

1) sand blaster
2) lighter fluid & a match
3) hydrochloric acid
4) belt sander w/ 80 grit paper.

when sanding just the clear you have to be extremely careful not to sand through the color. From what I remember, you dont have to actually completely remove all of the old clear, but wetsanding with 1000 grit sandpaper and a sanding block will probably be your best bet to remove most of the clear and give something for the new clear to stick to.
