Darn Check Engine light...
Well the CEL popped on again today...the message I am getting is this:
Code PO1457 "Evap leak near canister"
Does anyone know the approprate steps to take in fixing this problem...also will it hurt my gas mileage and performance...to run it in this condition?
Thanks
Chris

EVAP canister is #5, the vent-shut valve (#8) is on the outboard end of the canister. It sits roughly under the left-rear seat.
Make up some jumper wires to power the V-S-valve directly from the battery. When mine went bad it was corroded stuck so it didn't even click.
If that valve is OK, it might be any of those other hoses or components isn't airtight like it should be. Check out this thread, scroll down to my post describing some stuff to check out.
