Default how to improve my 60ft time

guys i just would like to ask i bought a new set of tires from M&H before i was using a 23x8x13 drag slicks, now i bought a 22x9x13, may 60ft time before was 2.0sec. the problem i think is that may motor does not have enough torque to lounch the 23" tires i only have a N.A. SOHC non v tec zc engine Stock short block. may WHPis 142 and a torque of 112, may trani is stock may current time is 13.7sec. @98mph do you think the 22" will help me go faster iam from the Philippines thanks guys

a 22 might still be too big. Id look into a 20 x 8 14 or something along those lines

I dunno. A 22" slick is pretty small. The 20" would throw off the gear ratios even worse too. I would stick with some 22" slicks. Just my opinion and i have no experience with the 20's; only 22". An inch is a big difference.

Also, what is done to your D series to get you 98mph on a NA, non-VTEC? With that mph on 23" slicks, i say the 22s would be great.

1) in my opinion, them slicks are a little big. the "9" is a little over kill too i think.
2) you are right about not enough tq to launch them slicks...power too.
3)20x8x13 sounds better.

Use that to help you figure the tire size.^

i plugged in the following info-
HX tranny (longer gear like zc? )
redline around 6800 rpm
20x8-13 slicks

it says ur 3rd 6.8k mph will be at 92mph and end of 4th is 119mph. So you might have to throw it into 4th. Or you can get the 22" slicks and end 3rd at 102mph...either of them sound great to me.

are you dropping your clutch, or do you feather it when you launch?
If you are dropping it, try to feather it once. when you are completely staged, let the clutch engage to the point where if you give it gas you would move. keep your revs up and when you launch, leave the clutch there and give it a some gas (not WOT)

It takes some practice, you burn the clutch a little but it allows you to get traction faster and should lower your 60'. Mine improved from 2.2's - 1.9s

1.816 was my best 60 ft.............

but 2 cars ahead had leaked fluid, so a little VHT was added.

1.84-1.85 was my norm.......

my best 60ft in 20X8X13 on vx wheels is 1.706. I dont know how i did it but the only thing different that day was me running suspension straps to stop the front from lifting on me.
