now theres a unique sounding engine comming to mind, distributerless ignition, electric water and oil pump. camless engine. before long these engines are going to be nothing but pistons bouncing up and down on a crank.... less moving parts, less frictional wear and tear, more reliability..or is it?

something about freeing up hidden power...

imagine frictionless cylinder walls and using the lightest oil possible as a lubricant and being able to spin the crank in your hand whilst attached to all the pistons and rods and stuff...

10-15 years?

ill keep dreaming.

Maybe when they come up with a way to magneticly control the pistons in the bores...so they are so close to the wall, atoms can't pass through!

But then, just think how fine the machining would have to be!
