New horse in the stable...
Please welcome my new horse in the stable....2004 Yamaha R6...
I only bought it because it was an absolutly SCREAMING deal. Long and short of it, a friend was in trouble, so I helped him out....Clean title, 1400 miles....cheaper than a 5 year old bike
So heres the new horse.....shes BONE stock for now...cept for licence plate re-located...so nothing special, just happy to have another bike thats completely differnt than my last few.... sooo narrow between the legs, feels like i lost my left nut, fun fun though.
Its gonna be modify my R-6 winter...now i just need a catchy name for her.

Nice of you to help your friend out.
If you want to experiment with 600SS bikes, this is the one to do it with. Cheap, comfy, and fast. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine.

Thanks guys.....yeh I can't wait to ride it more, on my way to work right now but was playing around with it for a couple hours, very flickable compaired to my gixxer not quite as confident in the high speed corners as i am on gixxie but that comes with riding the bike more though.
another major differnce is the stock exhuast, I notice I am looking down at the tach and going woah, it was time to shift a few thousand rpm's ago.
All my streetbikes have had aftermarket exhaust either the day i bought them or had them on when i bought them, so its differnt. Im very excited and very happy with the purchase so far!! Hope the yamaha holds up for me

It was DIRRRT cheap
, under $6000, could not pass that one up, clean title, no accidents (didn't have it long enough), and bone stock so lottts of room to play
Im about to pull some stickers off it sence i had a tendancy to do that. Like bikes better without all that **** on there...

Well I only have about 6 hours on the R6 so far, only had it for 2 days...
I like the Gixxers wideness, my last few bikes have been very wide, and i guess i got used to it even though i am not a very big guy. I am still more comfortable going into high speeds corners or any major lean corners on the gixxer but that could just be because i have more time on it...
The R6 is VERY small, feels DRASTICALLY smaller and lighter than the gixxer, feels like it fits me more like a glove, there is defently less power on tap at all times and thats very noticable but it just means more shifting (which isn't always a bad thing).
So as it stands its hard to say, for high speed stuff and major lean angles I am more comfortable and confident on the gixxer, for slow parking lot stuff and in traffic the R6 is defently more comfortable. I also think the balance point is quite a bit lower (or so it feels) on the R6 so its nicer for that stuff...Once I get more comfortable and confident on the R6 though I could see liking it more due to the fact that the ergo's just fit me better naturally...
