Really loud rattling sound?
I have a 1988 crx dx. It makes a really REALLY loud rattling noise that comes from the engine as soon as i give it gas, now what would it be?, could the crankshaft be bent, the rods be bent?? Now remember it ONLY does it when i give it gas.
well, my car made a really loud rattling noise when i hit the gas, but then i just removed a peice of heat sheilding that had rusted from my exhaust and it purrs like a kitten.
do you think the rattling you are hearing is coming from your engine itself? when your car is idling does it make the rattling just at a lower frequency? if any of those things were bent, your car would probably not be running at all. or running so shitty it would sound like it was going to blow up. your piston rings might be gone, and that might be what your hearing, but unless you are burning copious amounts of oil.. that probably isnt it. does your car have a stock d15 engine, or is it swapped? have you done anything, like revving to 10k or something, that might have caused this?

well i aint burning no oil, it does sound like its coming from the engine (stock d15) but it only does it when i give it gas, i really havent revd it hard

you should do a valve lash adjustment.. maybe that is what your hearing. is it like a ticking sound or rattling? and does the engine rev fine or does it hessitate or kinda stuter or anything?
engine runs fine actually...it runs strong, but some times it does turn off when on idle it needs to be held at like 2k rpms or higher for it to say on

so your saying that it is a good strong running engine, BUT it shuts off on you at idle, you need to hold it at 2k to keep it running??? that don't sound like a good strong running engine.
my car burns a quart of oil every 3 weeks and it NEVER shut off on me, ever.
try pulling off the injectors one at a time, if the problem goes away on one of them then its in that cylinder, sounds like a cracked block, piston slap or rod knock???
