What could be wrong with my brakes?
ok i had some 1 change my brake pads like 2 months ago maybe 3 because when i would drive they would screech even if i didnt break. now when i am break at a high speed lets say 35-40 i come 2 a sqeeky stop and when im doing under 5 mph and i break i hear as if metal was sratching. wat do u guys think is wrong?
Is it possible for my break pads 2 be wasted already in such little time? i dont have any jack stands so i can check it my self but i might be able 2 borrow some. o and my break pads are from autozone i dont kno if that could be a factor

if he did not use honda pads you might get that squeak ,,,also as it was suggested it is a good idea to resurface rotors..also the pads shims?? are they lubricated with the honda special gray lube ;;;;;;;
And as for 94accord comment about him seeing the pads put in backwards , no way Jose' you cannot install them backwards , so i dont know what you have seen

I have seen brake pads installed backwards once and Let us just say the rotors needed to be replaced as for new pads again.
If they were put in backwards you would not hear screech you would hear metal to metal grind just as if the pads were worn down to metal. This is a definate sound that you would not miss.
I have installed new pads that were not Honda parts and even with heavy lubing of shims some of them have squealled a little. Which is very frustrating with new breaks.

you have to take it back to a break person to get them turned.. they just resurfice it, a good way to know if they need to be, is tuch the rotor with your hand going up and down and if u feel a ridged surface, i belive that means they need to be turned, but if they are smooth, then they are good (atleast thats what i was told and learned)
also if they have been turned already (i dont knwo if u can do it mroe then once, im not a break specialist) u might have to get new rotors.. thast what i had to do, they were 40 bucks each at autozone.
ps of course dont check the rotors if u have just driven your car let it cool down lol (ive done it once, i wasnt thinking lol)
hopes this helps, and if some of my info is wrong then please correct it anyone

mmmmmmmmmmm.... how do u install brake pads backwards???? that i would like to see........and u are saying that you saw that??? how did they slide into the caliper ?????
When I worked at a shop, this happened all the time. If cheap pads were used, you can develop hard spots from them heating up too fast. the hard spots touching the rotors can produce the same effect as if metal was touching metal. This happened to my Cb7 and I just lived with it until the hard spot wore down. You should have your rotors turned when you put new pads on because you always want to have a new surface against a new surface. You can tell of your rotors are warped by your car vibrating when you apply the brakes. They can also just have groves, or ridges, that you can feel with your hand through your wheels like Honda_Accord said.
