how do i turn off seatbelt alarm on 05 accord?
Can't a person ask a simple question anymore?
Anyway, this has come up before. If I remember right there's a plus you can disconnect either near the bottom of the seatbelt, or on the opposite side of the seat.

Put the little shiny piece that hangs to your left into the hard plastic thing with the red button until it clicks and the seatbelt alarm with stop.

The seat belt alarm cannot be turned off, unless you put the seat belt on. If you unplug it under tha seat, it will turn the AIR BAG or SRS warning light. The srs control unit needs to know of the driver's belt is buckled or not, to determine proper airbag deployment speed.
Think thats bad? The 2006 Civic will sound and flash the seat belt alarm if the driver OR passenger has the belt unbuckled.

That's right....
....people don' think how important it is to buckle up.... but.... when in a fraction of a second... an accident happens and the car hits something or roll over.... the one without seat belt can be thrown out of the car....
Keep your seat belt.... ....use it... it's safe...

What if there isn't a passenger? Are you supposed to keep the belt locked in all the time?
And I didn't realize that the SRS was shut off. I guess the only way around it then would be to have an extra buckle (without a belt), just snap that in to make the car think the belt is fastened. Then when you are driving "unbuckle" it and put the real one in.
And yes, I agree that when driving, you should have the seatbelt fastened but when idling in the driveway waiting I wouldn't want the damn thing beeping.

OPDS is what honda calls it. It tells how much weight, the position of passenger in seat. seat belt or not if a 50 pound kid is sitting up front the airbag won't deploy.
Honda SRS system is getting advanced rather quickly and there are a lot of inputs inside the car to tell when and how fast to set off airbags.
Rather advanced if I must say.

I would definately agree with you there.

To everyone talking about how someone shouldn't ask this, because we should all wear our seat belt. I have every seat belt buckled in my 05 accord, and the light won't go off and it chimes at me for about 10 miles. I really need to know the safest way to make it stop. and, i do wear my seat belt.
