Default Transmission rebuild..

I took it to Honda Works today here in Charlotte and had them take a look at my car. I've been getting some odd noises before and after my clutch install. Come to find out he confirmed that I had bad bearings in my tranny. He's quoting me $900 bucks to rebuild it and roughly the same to buy another and stick it in. However, with rebuilding it, I have the guarentee that it will work correctly, whereas if I buy one, it may have problems. What do you folks think?

For $900 you mean buying a used tranny and installing it?

Can you splurge and get a brand new ITR tranny? That's what I did, and installed my KAAZ and JDM FD at the same time.

Regardless, do any mods you want to your tranny NOW, so you don't have to take it out again. For example, switch FD and/or install an LSD.

Good luck,

I just had this done to a used gsr tranny I bought. I installed a quaffe lsd also. I knew 3rd was bad when I bought the tranny but I ended up replacing 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and the top 1/2 of the case. I have a hook up at acura and got it done for right under $1100 not counting the LSD.
