I have a '96 accord ex and i love every bit of it. for the longest time i had aspirations to soup it up, and over this summer i got taillights, headlights, dual mufflers, a bodykit an autostart and new wheels and tires. but does it make me a bitch if it's not a stick shift, i mean i would love it if it was but that's just not what i got. also, i didn't do any engine mods over the summer because i can't work as much during school so i got what i thought would be really expensive out of the way first. but the kids at school think im dumb because i dont drive a stick and apparently dont know anything about the engine since i didn't do any mods to it. i mean i'm doing the best i can i just turned 17 for goodness sake, and i payed for everything out of my own pocket. i want to do engine mods and i really just want to do the works, but i was jsut curious if i was dumb and shouldn't be into imports at all for those reasons. i would think the want to do it would be enough but i'll let you guys tell me. thanks

Look at my sig 2 out of my 3 cars have duals, so it's not that I'm exactly against them, it's just both cas make a bit more than 100hp

 

do more engine modifications rather than exterior mods, pics might help us help you. for manning up and asking for help.

I drive an auto, and although i havent done much interior and body work, except suspension, i did do engine work and planing on swaping for a vtech. But i certainly do not consider myself a bitch, specially when i have beaten people in cars that have sticks.. anyways some poeple like to do the look of the car first adn engine later, most perfer engine first, sense they do not wanna drive around looking pimp and then losing to a regular looking car infront of your gf.. lol anyways its all how you want it done, u really shouldnt give a crap if people are gonna call u a bitch, just b.c you seriously drive an auto.. also POST PICS sounds like you might have a nice ride

 

so ur gonna swap for a vtech? an f22 or h22? if your gonna say f22, don't bother wasting your time, unless you need that bling vtech y0z on your head, then i guess go for it, but power wise it would be pointless

Thanks for the input, i realize some of the things i should do now about the engine. i was just curious, because going into doing anything to my car i was completely alone, so it's nice to hear things from people who really know this tuning well.

your car isnt too bad, Go get your stock exaust put back on and tint the windows, Put an intake on it 2, My friend had an auto accord with an intake it was tons of fun.

 

car isnt too bad but however ur wheels are heavier then the car.. r u all show n no go? if so then nm thats ok. but if ur trying to be quick loose the wheels n exhaust

 

You'll also get crap light output from the headlights, adn teh taillights make me cry. Wheels are pretty heavy as well...

 

from last i knew 17" motegi mr7 silver finish weighed in at 24lbs wheel alone (1). ive got 18"s that are less than that. research pays..

...you see those cars with some "apc" and "aem" gay *** stickers like they are sponsored or somethin'..... ... I don't think that the accord above is looking ricey.....

 

honestly honda-tech as a whole generally isn't a big fan of body kits and chrome whells but its really whatever floats your boat. Please don't do things because of what other people think about you. If you like the way your car looks with body kits and wheels then keep it that way. Just understand that most of the people on theese forums would have spent that money on suspension and motor instead.

 

I drive an Auto as well, and I am satisfied with it that way. Sometimes when buying a used car you can't be choosey over some things like that. I get a great deal and I don't regret getting it. I have over 190k on my original tranny, just fluids changed.
Cost less in the long run.
Its Not about what other people think to me, its about the pride and work in your own CAR.

 

Eh, dump the bodykit, headlights, rims, tailights, and exhaust and it'll look good. Just my opinion on the matter.

I really don't think these kids think about what they buy and install on their cars. I see so few cars that actually fit together and don't look like they slapped on one of everything popular.

 

now it wouldnt look to bad if it was lowered and didnt have those tail lights, and the exhaust was changed, my car is a auto and it runs good, i keep up with sticks it just isnt as much fun to drive.

they got them on ebay (i may get the black ones the chromes a lil too flashy for me)
how are the on light are the darker or brighter than the stock lights

o ya ur car looks pretty good but if u plain on lowerin it u may wanna go wit some 18in rims(but lighter) or ur kit will be fucked from some serious scrapin

 

yes they are the halo headlights. the only thing that sucked about them was the stock are 3 piece and it's a ton of work to get them to fit in, my brother and i had to take off my whole front bumber to get them to fit, i dunno if we just didnt know what we were doing or what, but thats how we got them, but yes they are brighter than stock.

 

if you wanted to SOUP it up.... then why did you wast all your money on asthetics?!... =/ if you wouldve saved your meny .. you could have a manual swap an h22 sitting in it already or even soon... i dont see how heavy wheels, alcheezas and cheap headlights make a car faster... i personally think you brought it apon yourself... rice`ing it out.. and its auto.. you couldve at least used the money in the engine bay...

i will have a 9 second accord and still no body kit i say **** the outside it's what is on the inside like a h22 or k24 swap with a fat turbo pushing 15 to 20 pounds i shake my head at fools who spend a G on a damn body kit, get a swap and you will turn heads, utill then injoy my tail lights in your lame ride ... oh and drop your ride trust me you will like it so much more i was hesitant at first but would never go back now
