Default Must beat Eclipse

I have a dying urge to beat my friend in his overated Eclipse. Its a '99 RS N/A with injen cold air intake, universal vibrant muffler, eibach sportline kit with tokico blues. What is the best, and least expensive way for me to finally make him stop talking s#$t about Accords. Money is very much a factor seeing how I'm attending college and dont have much. Thanks very much for your input and thoughts!

cant do much with $200 if you want to beat him you going to need more than that
you can get a nitros kit for like $400 , 75 shot should do the trick.

Just knowing Accords are better than eclipses should be enough shouldn't it?

ya for 200 bucks if you already have intake and exhaust your pretty much skrewd. and if all you care about is baeting him save a bit more and spray him.... that's the cheapest way to beat him.

Get some headers..... you can find them at ebay for less than 100 bucks.... ...if you don't give a crap about emissions... get a test pipe... that shoud cost around 40 bucks....
Will make your car faster....

Nothing you'll do for 200 will help too much. I'd do test pipe then header. But you could do better by stripping out your trunk and rear seats.

Save your money and buy a H22. Don't buy those chips off ebay, there junk. And dont get NOS, Bottles Are For Babies. And you can get a cam from Accordperformance.com, I have that and I wax on Eclipse's all day long. But it was a waste of money to spend on the F22B2.

Bad advice. Dont' just buy a part because it's advertised as making a car faster. Understand that the exhaust has to work as a SYSTEM. And it has to be properly sized. Getting the wrong sized header (by size I mean primaries, collectors, etc), you will simply be hurting your performance.

Know WHY you are doing something instead of just listening to people's directionless advice.

....my friend has an intake.... and a test pipe.... the minute he got the test pipe installed... his car sounded "nicer" and louder.... we all could notice that the car was pulling faster as well.....
.....and when the kid wants to get some headers.... he should be able to find by himself..... ...I mean... what kind of car, year, how many cylinders.... aaaaand... good to go!
Test pipe>> sure is not a good mod, it messes with gas mileage and emissions... but.... let him smoke that eclipse....

We were all there at one time or another. No need to act like an elitist.

Then do two things...

1. Talk like an adult.
2. Don't overhype something by using your *** dyno. It serves no purpose. Saying "I put this part on and man does the car pull harder!" is not helping anyone. That IS newB thinking.

we have both gone to the strip multiple times (1/8 mile) and my best time which wasnt great at all was 10.64 where his was 10.63. I had my trunk stripped and minimum amount of gas yet it was still that close (even took the filter off for what its worth). I was thinking about getting a short shifter since the throw is sooo long but the next thing i need is bad syncros. And by the way, im not new to this game just new to the site, in fact im going to school at UTI in houston as we speak. If there is any little thing that i could do to finally take this eclipse let me know!!!

u can get a lighter flywheel for better acceleration.
what about the vtec tuner, where it lets u set when vtec kicks in

got some NAWZ man...it will be mad crazy fast yo...thats right boi!...
haha honestly that is a drivers race like previously stated, back when i had my auto accord lx w/ just short ram intake and muffler, i could hang w/ a manual RS eclipse..never beat one but i did run one once and i was right behind his door the whole time, he got the jump and i hung the whole time....by the way thats a really slow race now that i look back on it...both cars are slows as *****.

obtw the thing about getting a short shifter, short shifters dont cause bad synchros...dumbass drivers who dont know how to shift cause bad synchros...and too be honest people do that to shave miliseconds off there times. a stock honda accord or one w/ basic bolt ons is enough of a terd where that wouldn't really help at all.

K, first of all a flywheel involves quite a bit of work if i recall correctly not to mention $$$, and unfortunately i dont have a vtec .

Next, my opinion on "NAWS" is that its for cheaters who cant beat a car straight up. And if u know anything short shifters DO cause bad syncros because u are jamming the shifter into gear much faster and much harder. And personally i think a short throw on an accord would help quite a bit because of the HUGE throw compared to other cars, like an eclipse for instance.

I'm thinking i might go with a cam since i need a new timing belt soon anyways, then i should SMOKE the living S@#T out of him. How much do those bullfrog/gude cams add on a 94 accord m/t non-vtec? Dont just throw out some random hp/tq numbers either, give me some proof if u have it. Either a dyno or time slip, i dont care.

One more option would be an MSD blaster coil, modified cap, and wires. Anyone know how much this would help???
