Default apex'i WS vs. dynomax

Alright, I currently have a magnaflo muffler runing off of 2.5" custom headback piping with a res and hi-flow cat. In the car it sounds great, but the other day my buddy drove the car and I got to hear what it really sounds like It's got the exact sound that I was trying to avoid! The ricey raspy sound..you know what I mean So I did some calling around and searching, and found that I can get teh apex'i ws muffler for $223 CAN plus shipping or, I can get the dynomax for $85 plus tax (which works out to about $100) The Apex'i obviously looks a LOT better, but what about sound? Anyone have experience with both mufflers?

WS2 here. Very nice!

I was told that RSR is the most quiet. But, that's ~$100 extra.

I had a worldsport on my last two cars and loved it. I recently went the cheaper route and bought a Dynomax super turbo muffler for my itr swapped del sol and love it. It's not straight through but I dynoed 195/126 with it, so it's not too restrictive.

Here's a cutout of it. It's basically 3 resonated mufflers in a oval case.

You can buy it for around $30 at Advance Auto or Pep Boys. They are prone to rusting out but I painted mine black, so it should last a little longer. If it does i'll spend another $30 and get another one.

I had a catback apexi WS on my previous LS hatch. It sounded so ******* mean, cabin & outside. Cruises about as loud as a tired OEM system, but WOT it howls along with the intake perfectly. I couldn't hear any raspiness with it. My only complaint was that it didn't fit all that well, but I did have all the LS exhaust on it previously.

Muffler looked great, very shiney yet tucked in very well.

I dont know I wish I knew someone that had it locally here. But I'm also considering a greddy evo and sp...

I got the Apexi WS on my hatch for about 2 years now. Sounds good, but like someone mentioned before. It fit like crap

There is no room for my sway bar (it occasionally hits) and the resonator is big and hangs too low. I tried raising it with shorter rubber hangers, but the moment I raise it up, it hits something else.

My friend's WS on the prelude fit a heck of a lot better, so it might be just the civic hatches.

WS does have a lot of fitment issues, but i think that's hit or miss. over all sounds pretty damn good. i've had one on my gf's car for about 3-4 yrs now and mid-pipe is starting to get some small rust holes that contribute to a louder/raspy sound. still bearable though. at WOT... i don't know about sounding like a G35, but if you have dohc vtec, that's all you will hear.

What kind of resonator and Cat you have under there? Do you have an aftermarket header?

stock header...2.5" headerback piping, cherry bomb res and magnaflo hi flow cat. Looks like I'm picking up a greddy sp muffler and gonna take out the res and cat tho...
