Default Tire size recommendations

I currently have a set of Volk Racing SE37's. They are 17x7.5. I was wondering what would be the widest set of tires I could put on these. I was thinking about getting some 215/40/17's but I've been told that they will rub. So am I stuck with 205/45/17's???

I don't really know, but I'm just saying this to give u an idea. How about stickin' with your tyres and putting on wheel spacers? I've heard though if the spacers are too wide you may put unnecessary load on your wheel bearings.

Interesting, I've never heard of that being done before.

I've had both sizes on my Integra.

It all depends on how much you've been lowered. With my 205/40's, I would never rub, even on a hard bump or turn.

When I switched to Kumho 215/40's, I rubbed everywhere. I couldn't have more than 1 person sit in my car. On turns....forget it. I rolled my rear fenders, and cut more than half of my fender lining in the front. It still rubbed when I hit bumps. It sucked. I had to switch my front springs from my Sprint ones to Neuspeed Sports.

My Sprint springs were kinda low, so you might not get as bad a rub as mine. They were like 2.25" Once I put the Neuspeed sports on the front, no more rubbing.

I sold my 17" rims and 215/40 tires to a friend with a Civic HX. He rubs with this Neuspeed Sports all the time.

Hope that helps a little with my experiences.

Thanks buddy, I'll probably end up going with the 205/40's. My car isn't slammed but it's still pretty low.
