Default 92 prelude --> BATTERY KEEPS DYING OVERNIGHT

my friends 92 prelude. 5spd. his battery keeps dying overnight. he has replaced 2 batteries within a few days.

he has had everything tested and it is confirmed to be the battery is DEAD each time.

what would be causing the battery to go dead like this all of a sudden???

Does your friend have an alarm on his car?

The car was working fine up until a few days ago? If so, what changed?

If your friend needs an alternator, let me know. I have one available.

Do you have an amp or sub? Maybe it's not wired properly.

Also, what did you change say the day or two before this started happening or what changes have you made lately

i dont think he changed anything.. he's not into cars.. he just drives it.. he has a sony deck, but its been there all the time.. so nothing has changed.. just when he parks it for the night, it goes dead in the morning.

no amp or system installed.

Something is pulling juice. He hasn't been leaving his interior light on or anything simple like that has he?

For a simple solution - pull the battery cable when he parks, but he really needs to figure out what is pulling the juice from the battery.

Well he has a sony deck <---We'll get to that later

Maybe when he hooked up his radio - he hooked it up to a constant - (always has power).........

If he leaves his radio on - volume down - it'll probably kill the battery

^^^ I don't think so, just an idea

Tell him to get an Alpine unit

If he didn't do anything to the vehicle in the past week - he has a serious problem. I don't think anything factory would cause such a drain - especially if it wasn't doing it a few days ago. He HAD to change something.......even if he just changed a light bulb - find out what he did. And if he says he didn't do anything - call BullShit.

put a voltmeter on the battery while the car isn't running and watch the power drain. Then start pulling fuses until you find the circuit causing the drain.

Does he have an alarm system that stays armed overnight?
