Um....I'm not really sure what you are asking. If it has one cam gear it is a SOHC if it has 2 cam gears it is a DOHC. Can you give us a pic?

YES, there are two different version of the ZC. DOHC and SOHC as you have now found out.

ive found searching under "SOHC" is sufficient enough to find all the "SOHC ZC" threads.

but all you need to know is here.

Its a damn good motor, about 120 HP good for turbo aplications due to its relatively low compression and an easy swap into a CRX/EF. It'll be quick with some minor mods and a good driver.

its stamped ZC, theyre all stamped ZC DOHC's and all versions of the SOHC ZC

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 2kTeg &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">sohc zc isn't vtec sorry buddy its a stock crx si motor with a more agressive cam, shes a good little motor and carb legal replacement</TD></TR></TABLE>

The SOHC ZC comes in a lot of varieties, a pre-OBD 1.6L non-vtec (rated under 120hp), a OBD-1 version 1.6L non vtec and a OBD-1 SOHC vtec, and a OBD-2 non-vtec.

theyre descent motors, only a few HP off of the A6.

Very good info Kryogen .... not many HT'er know too much about ZC's and unfortunately the search feature doesn't help due to the fact that ZC "Is too short or too common to be included in the search.

I too was once lost in the wierd ZC land my best advice is THE ZC RESOURCE http://www.thezcr.com
