Trouble with my '01 tranny/clutch
I purchased my '01 lude a month or so ago and everything was fine except that it was a little tough to get into 3rd gear. It was no biggie and i didnt really care, until one day it wouldnt go into any gears what so ever. Somehow i got the car to the honda dealer that it was scheduled to have inspection done at. First they replaced the clutch master cylinder which didnt help, then they replaced the clutch and it was fine. i drove the car for roughly 4 days and then one time when i started out after a stop sign right when the car hit 2000 rpm there was a clunk coming from where the tranny meets the engine. this happens everytime i start and stop, also if i let the rpms get low in second then hit the throttle it with clunk too. there is no lag in performance or rpms all there is a noise. Also...sometimes 1st gear gives me a tough time getting in when at a stop, and all gears are sticky at random times. I just wanna know if any of you have noticed anything similar to this, and if you've done something about it. It'd be much appreciated if someone could let me know. THankx
I would say that something in the gearbox is giving the problem - the selectors, input shaft, synchro, bearing - could be anything. I lead to this as you said the clutch and master cylinder has been replaced so thats the only thing it can be wrong. Take it back and get them to check the gearbox - which they should have done when changing the clutch.
