there will be more than on si to drive in fact. Its a ride and drive. they wouldn't promote such an event with a FREE concert that holds 10 000 spectators and just bring one car.

ah, I don't see where it says "si" anywhere. I'm betting they have automatics civic coupes and sadans.

From what I know, its drop date is December 1st.
Who knows, though, as they released the coupes and sedans earlier than forecasted... although not by much.

Just got back from the sat event. NO car cruise NY was a tough venue to hold a cruise. There's a CASH prize for best civic and best non Honda.
There are civic SI's on site to test drive. Overall i like it. decent response and torque. I was able to chirp second, track was kinda tight to push it more. It was a preproduction unit, but was solid. Release dates for the SI is scheduled for early Dec.

I drove the the si a bunch of times. Overall, it's a great car. It's got good power and a nice flat power curve. The si doesn't feel as fast and vtec doesn't feel as pronounced as the current type s. The seats were excellent nice and comfy with alot of support. The 3-spoke, small steering wheel was also very nice and sporty.
The best part of the car was by far the lsd. When you drive the car you'll know what I mean. In turns, You can give plenty of throttle to overwhelm the tires, but instead of causing over-steer like an open diff would, it feels like it pulls you in tighter into the turn. It's exhilarating and makes you get hooked on the car. Turn-in was adequate, it had nice steering feel with some feedback and the low profile michies mxv4 provided plenty of grip all of which complemented the lsd.
It's biggest drawback I found especially for people who drive integras and older hondas, was the super-long dash. I'm just over 6' and without the seat adjusted to the highest setting, I was extending my neck trying to look over the dash. It's almost like driving a bus or something. I guess in normal street driving it wouldn't be such a bid deal, but it definitely makes the car feel overall less sporty. People who drive the ep3 might not be bothered by this.
I definitely recommend attending this event and driving the new si. They also had a 6 speed v6 accord which was a blast to drive.

I was at the event on saturday also, I testdrove the si twice, and the v6 6mt accord once. I'm in love with the accord but its a bit out of the range of what I want to spend on my next car, so the si is a top contender for me. Did that course suck or what though? Extremely short and you really couldn't get on the car. I really wouldn't have minded about not being able to mash on it if the course was just bigger and allowed for a longer test drive.
most of the ride and drives are just to get a basic feel of the car. How it fits the customer. You had every chance to drive the car how you wanted. There was no one in the car telling you what to do. I was able to pull first gear to redline and chirp second. I did get a little talk to but it was understandable. They only had two SI"s on site and they needed them to last.
Since the SI is still in preproduction not many of them are out for the test drives. As we get closer to the actual release of the SI there will be more available for the ride and drive events.
As for the Accords and other cars on the lot i was pretty much hot lapping them and taking the course as quick as i could. I felt like i was on the auto x course. hahaha. I did hold back but I did drive the cars harder than I should have.
