Default Installation costs?

Two things I need to have installed in my Sol(s): cruise, and A/C.

I want cruise control for my Sol S. Can anybody give me an idea what I should expect to pay for that installation, or if it is even feasible on a 93 S Sol?

An option I have is to buy another Sol that's nearby that does have cruise, but no A/C. Sooo, I'm also looking to get a price to install A/C. I would probably get the system used, but if anybody has an idea on prices for A/C, that would help too.

Did you call a shop? It takes 2 minutes to pick up the phone.

Ok, look. It takes you the same amount of time to either say something pointless like that, or type a sentence to answer the question. Sure I could pick up a phone. Turns out I have never had either of these two options installed on a car before, and while I can get a price on the phone, I don't know what a good price is. I don't know if it would be more worthwhile to do it myself. Hence, the reason I posted here.

lol. xcuse the ppl on HT. but lets see. my rough estimate. parts n everything under $300. i dont kno how much the cruise control module cost but maybe you should go to a junk yard. its a little box located under the dash somewhere. i took one out of a Blazer. NO FUN AT ALL. but its actually pretty simple. A/C hmm i really dont know but a lot of guys on HT junk their A/C for more HP and weight reduction so u could just ask them. then a shop? labor. psh $200 tops. i could do all that in a day with the right tools. but personally i can do w/o A/C and cruise control in my car. if your in a really hot place then yea A/C but i would go without if it wasn't. cruise control...eh it actually kills more gas sometimes. but its ur car lol. good luck

Well first off I would suggest calling a shop for prices, because this is not something I would reccomend for someone who is not very good with cars, not to mention wiring. Second I have been givin quotes from very reccomended places for $200. I suggest going with a shop because they can warranty their labor, not just the part. If you install it and mess something up its your ***. Now if you are good with cars and wiring, im sure there are plenty of resources available how to do this. It may be an option to look at another car and get the system from a junkyard and install it accordingly.

Now on to the AC. This is something else I would have done by a certfied tech. Its probably best to have an OEM kit installed on their versus an aftermarket so there is so little install issues. However if you have time, and read on how to charge the system and the such you might find it easy.
Both systems depends on what you feel safe about doing. Dont do something your scared about.

Thanks for the helpful responses.

Sounds a little cheaper than I had anticipated. By the way, Mississippi is HOT. A/C makes survival possible. And cruise, well, I was hoping for a little gas savings on the highways, but I also would like to give the legs a rest.

Many thanks.
