let me get this right, you want to know if your block was an LS VTEC ? there should be an external oil line somewhere tapped on the block to run to the head.

search and youll find all the info you need

Im sorry we werent all born with having all knowledge about car...were not as special as YOU are... if you have nothing usefull to say to me then stick it between ur *** *** cheeks and hide behind a tree..

Now the reason im asking is because i just recently did a ls-v swap my self but i dont remember if i relocated the dowel pins or not. because my vtec is not working at the moment. so in order to save my self some time and money i wanted to know if theres a way i can tell if the block was used for LS-V b4 i bought it..cuz if it was all i have to do is pull the head and put the pins in if it WAS NOT i have to mill out the hole

thanks.

if your runnin lsvtec than you should know wat you need to make it work and check if any of the parts are there.. not tryin to be a *** or anything but dam people got to use common sence sometimes.. and also i thougth i would never say this but just search

but to answer your question you dont need to drill out the block just get golden eagel dowel pins.. you cant really tell if it was lsvtec before, but somethings to look for are vtec oil pump, vtec water pump, the back might have a tee already

there are alot of resaons y vtec wont work.. is your oil pna dented, is it obd1 or obd2? if it's obd l is it vtec haness, if not is it wired? if yes are both harness vtec? you have all the bolts on the cam rails?, does the vtec selenoid work?, any check engine lights?

well i just found out that all those dowel pins to is guide oil to ur head and keep the head in place u dont really need them..and as far as the other things...my vtec sol is working...my oil pan isnt dented the motor is a b18a1 which is obd1 i belive but the car its in every thing is obd2 its in a 99 si..which im running stock harness stock dizzy and stock ecu...can my ecu be the reason my vtec isnt working..because it worked once before from 5600-5700k then the motor shut off...it wouldnt start agian i had to pull the head off every thing checked out fine..and now it works perfect just no vtec...

you might be missing some senors than if the motor is obd1.. just get a conversion harnees from ob2b to obd1 and get a p28 or gsr ect.. and you should be good ithink... ooh do you have a sensor on the water neck before the thermostat.. if not thats y your vtec isn't workin
