Default Exhaust MODS????

I have a stock integra Type R yellow, dc2 99 model. I plan to just do cold air induction, bigger leads, ground kit, spark plugs, and the whole exhaust. I don't want 1-4 excactors because I don't want to sacrifice low and mid range torque. Should I keep my stock exhaust piping (2 1/4") and just change to highflow cat, and muffler, or should I change the whole system to 2.5" My conception is , is that with my limited amount of mods, the stock piping should be fine, as I do wana keep noise levels down to a minimum. Should I change the muffler to a more high flowing one, or is the stock one okay???? Also is the stock resonator between that muffler and car high flowing, or should I change that too.

Any help would be appreciated!!! I have already read the other posts about this topic, however, nothing really has SPECIFICALY answers my question. Sorry if it seems like i'm repeating a common question!!

actually they all answer your question, i just think the answer probably isn't the one you're looking for.

you want someone to tell you that you're right and you don't need to get a full catback to extract the most out of the car. unfortunately, that's not the way it is. get a full exhaust and get a hi flow cat. there are several quiet exhausts on the market that provide excellent gains over stock, just search.

Go with the whole system. Mugen twin loop is pretty quiet. I would say get a decent 4-2-1 header, a hi flow cat, and a quiet exhaust.

noise and power are a tradeoff man. 1 good thing to do is get a nice catback and grab a silencer. When you need the extra power, you just pull it out. I went with the Tanabe full CB. Great system. Most aftermarket Exhausts will net you more power at higher RPMs. But in general, if you had read any of the millions of posts on AMCBE, the stock R exhaust is high flowing and quiet but not perfect. Also, you want to keep your car "queit" but you want a high flow cat. Research your questions a bit better, or you'll get torn up in the ITR forum.....
