I think I have a problem?
Alright first off I have a 1998 white prelude with 125K on the odometer. I have a problem with what I believe is running very rich...I hope. Anyhow I know when in VTEC black smoke will come from any Honda. However even during daily driving if I get above 3400 rpm I still am blowing smoke. I had my buddy drive behind me tonight and he said when I was shifting going slow not hitting above 3000 I was fine, but when I hard accelerated to around 4000-4900 he saw black smoke coming from my exhaust. I am tired of having to clean my bumper every week. What can I do to fix this problem?

Why? black smoke is fuel not coolant

yep - i say change the o2-'cause you probably smoked it, and replace the cat - if it doesn't work.......get a VAFCII controller - and take it down a notch........

Greddy evo & AEM CAI and that is it...and it is not that I mind washing my car it is just a pain in the d$$k when working full time and going to school 15 hours a week. I actually just got done washing it and I am going to take a picture of before driving and wait a few days and take another. Cause it is not just a little bit of soot it is practically my whole back bumper and it is pretty thick above my exhaust tip. I ave two buddies with the same problem and no can give us an exact answer.
