I put header, because bolt on wise, that is the best hp gainer you will get. However in all aspect, clutch/flywheel has to be a tie or at least a close second. Aftermarket clutches like ACT and Exedy grab awesome and just make the feel so much better. A good lightweight flywheel will make your B-16A rev like a bike and pull harder as well. If you go with a flywheel, get a chromoly flywheel like a Toda or ACT.

my best mod was a properly tuned ecu.

i down graded (if you can really call it that!) from obd-2b to obd-1 and then tuned it

was a more noticeable improvement than my other mods at the time.

but in accordance with your poll,
i guess i would chose a full race header
otherwise i wouldnt bother

but thats just me

No option for turbo? That was my best hp/dollar investment.

well i got a intake.. oem header.. exhaust.. blox manifold.. fuel rail.. and fpr.. i noticed the best gains off the fpr.. but i'm sure it's only because of those mods.. so i'm a firm believer in getting a fpr after doing any mods.

For price and ease of installation I would say header, I got one but have just been too lazy to put it on, gonna try and do that this weekend, no matter what.

the reason i didnt say turbo is that i just wanted to do simple bolt ons.

if i was covering turbo, i could have said cams, pistons, b18 block and all that stuff. i just wanted too keep it simple. i have a generic intake and a shitty exhaust and was just wanting to know what the next mod should be

and i know the clutch dosent help with hp so to say, but a good clutch and flywheel and help get power from the motor to the wheels

thanks for all the replys! keep them coming

I think the header was the best choice given, my best upgrade is ITR pistons, or my GSR cams but I take it you want a bolt on upgrade.

a 3 inch cai will make good power gains on a b16..unfortunately i dont think any company makes one...im trying to get a group order on custom made ones..but your battery would have to be relocated...pm me if ur interested..

I vote for a test pipe by far....$100 bux and gain a good amount of power, i gained 15whp and 5 lbs trq from putting on a test pipe. I had a dc header b4 when i first dynoed, and dynoed crappy...when i opened up the exhaust more with the test pipe is where i really saw the #'s jump. Now all i need to do is finish it off with the full cat-back

I hate to call BS but can you get the dnyos up I have never heard of gains that high from a test pipe.

Were your gains only at top end any losses?

Not trying to be mean just shocked by this

I say get some GOOD headers(rmf, ssr, hytech, smsp, anr to name a few) then a intake, and a exhaust and something to tune with.

Exhaust by far.

Crush bent 2.25 inch exhaust and a test pipe dropped me nearly a full second in the 1/4 (15.1 to 14.3).
