Anyone own a 98-99, 00-01 R1 or 01-02 R6????
To make a long story short i have a eurobikes undertail. The light assembly they provide is junk and makes the lights work intermittently. The undertail has twin round lights and i need to know what the diameter of the lights is on the following three bikes.
98-99 r1
00-01 r1
01-02 r6
Preferrably the 01-02 r6 lights would fit but if not I could work with the r1 light assemblies.
So can anyone help me out? The openings in my undertail are 2.5" each.
I purchased some integrated round led light assemblies from lunar accents but they are bare boards with leds on em so i am in need of a light assembly to put em in.
Thanks
Steven
*Note: there will be a prize of a 1/2 eaten piece of gum, a partially drank backwash filled coke, a stale crispy creme donut, a copy of my ticket that I got tonight due to my fleabay undertail with no plate mount, and a big fat thumbs up from me.
Note #2: shipping not included on the prize items, they are pickup only.

where's the link to the r6 forum? I asked a guy on ebay who is selling one and he sent me dimensions for the back of the light instead of the size of the circle pieces.... doh.

thanks for the heads up .xcalibur.
If they were round it would have probably worked perfectly....
Oh well, I ordered some lexan disks so I will try to make housings for them with some sort of tubing. (maybe pvc plumbers pipe or something....

that's correct big pete. I wanted to have led's instead of standard bulbs.
To replace the bulbs on my undertail I would have to take the tailsection apart, remove the undertail and then remove the tail light from the undertail, then take the front lens piece off the light assembly to remove the bulbs.
The bulb housing is plastic with a chrome mirror finish to reflect the light. The actual bulb socket for the 1157 style bulb is plastic. The plastic got hot and melted so when you lock the bulb in place it could move forward about 1/16 of an inch.
The way the wires connect to the bulb is wierd. There are 2 metal tabs that hang over the back of the bulb. When the bulb is pushed all the way back the two contact points touch the metal tabs. When the bulb slides forward just a hair the bulb no longer makes contact with the metal tab. (Which means no light......)
Also the friggen bulbs kept burning out 1/2 of the element. I had to change the standard bulbs a half dozen times or so.
I bought the lunar accents 2.5" round led panels that have the integrated amber blinkers. I am now simply trying to score a clear bulb assembly to put the blinkers into. I could try to ghetto rig something to work with the crappy assembly that comes with the eurobikes assembly but I thought that the r6 ones might work instead.
