Prospective buyer querie
I'm interested in buying an 02 onwards Type R but am worried about how much wear and tear the motor would have been through after two or three years.
Given its maximum power's in the 6000 - 7000+ rev range can I still expect a motor in decent condition given the high revs?
Obviously it's going to vary depending on the previous owner, but are they generally a tough motor?

You'll most likely have to import it from Japan or somewhere, and it will look a lot like an RSX.

Where is Elsewood Victoria?
Production halted in 2001 for the DC2 Integra Type R.. unless you are somewhere other then North America and talking about the DC5 RSX> Type R.
^^ nevermind that, i just read you are in Australia.
The Austrailian Type Rs have all the goodies except the K20A, instead they are equipped with the K20A2 engine (Our american Type S)... its pretty much BULLETPROOF man.... trust me, i sold my 02 RSX-S to get my ITR and that thing took a beating and a half and it still ran like the first day i got it.
Id say from my experience, i rag the **** out of my car, the past 5 months of owning it iv been redlining it 80% of the time. Car runs perfect. Even pulls better then my friends newer 03 RSX-S.. these cars are built for it!
The only recommendations i can give you is, take it for a test drive. Make sure it doesn;t burn alot of oil. Check for blue smoke when in VTEC. its a known problem.
Also, get a compression/leakdown test done on the motor at a shop..make sure its strnog and healthy!
PS- how much do they COST? oh.. and get the DC2 ITR!
more fun!

Not sure how many DC5R owners there are on here, interesting that questions about them don't come up more.

Not when you live in the great, and very beautiful, state of Victoria in Australlia.

Brand new the 05 Type S (the R became the S in 05 here) are around $42,000 Australian.
From what i've seen Type Rs are going for anything between $26,000 to $32,000 second hand for 02 - 03 models here.
