I would def go with the SI cable tranny, trust me its worth it.
I personally and as well as anyone here would say go OBD1, you will be running really good.
You can go a head and use your stock HF tranny, but remember long gears....lol
if you go SI Tranny you will need to replace your hubs.
Im working on a tutorial swap especialy dedicated to the JDM D15B Vtec Swap.....coming soon...lol

if you go obd0 you will need the obd0 injectors or soulder all 5 wires at the injector resistor box. i think youll also need a single wire o2 and a different dizzy. just go obd1 with a cable si tranny.
You can use the HF transmission, I would highly suggest getting the Si transmission, shorter gears and kick *** acceleration. Do not get the hydro transmission that comes with the ZC.
2. You can run it with a pg7 ecu and some sort of vtec activator, but you will be glad to run it OBD-1, the way it was meant to be run.
3. As far as knuckles and hubs, assuming you have an hf crx. If you have the hf transmission in there, you do not need to change out the hubs because you will be using the hf axels, which we all know work with hf hubs... duh.
I am pretty sure the hf axles fit into an Si transmission, so you can keep the hf axles and hf hubs, however, the hf hubs and axles are small. I would go ahead and upgrade while you are at it and get Si axles along with EX or Si knuckles/hubs.

so do hf axles work in the si transmission?my friend had an a6 swap with tranny in my 90 hf that i picked up as a shell. He said he used stock hubs and was running it with the a6 swap. That's the only way i can think of that it would work. TIA
