Tranny
I have a d16a6 in my 89 civic hatch. I had a DX tranny on it, and it went out, now im forced to put a 4 spd on it....Its goin to be pretty slow isnt it? hah. Also do you guys think it is worth to put a DOHC ZC in my car? Since i already have it...i just have to put new piston rings and put the head back together. Is it worth the time for the amount of power i will get?

Re: (89civichatchback)
no those motor suck youd be better off swaping in a sohc Vtec motor in there if youre on a budget you can get a d15b from honda motors online for under 500 then you just need to get a tranny now you go with a cable tranny or you can get a hydro EX or si (from 92-95 hatchs) and get the conversion get and you will be set with a quick lil hatch

ZC makes just as much HP as a SOHC VTEC, if not more, stock. 130HP stock out of a ZC. Lets say i get a d16y8, they make like 127HP. Its not that much of a difference. But since i already have the ZC here, and its direct bolt in, i think it would be worth right? What do you guys say about the 4 speed tranny on the d16a6?? hehe
