Default Valve Clearence?????? B16 head w/ type R cams

Any one know what the clearence is supposed to be?? I have a B16 Vtec head w/ Type R cams. I think it's 007mm intake and 008mm exhaust.

Is that right??

The correct clearances are:

IN 0.006" - 0.007"
EX 0.007" - 0.008"

If you are measuring in metric, the specifications are:

IN 0.15mm - 0.19mm
EX 0.17mm - 0.21mm

ok, so i did .006 all the across the intake side and .007 all the way cross the exhaust side. is that right? i slide my feeler gauge between the bottom of the cam lobe and the rocker...

i just took it for a drive, the smoke seemed to stop after a while, but still clatters and runs rough.

try going 007 in 008 exhaust, it sounds like your valve lash is to tight

some one told me that the clattering noise is pre-detnation caused by timming being off, too much compression, or cylanders running alittle hot...
also smells like lots of fuel coming out the exhaust. and carbon crap splashes out at startup.

but that would have nothing to do with your car and all those symptoms..

if you are using the ls water pump, you use the ls belt, if you are using a vtec waterpump, you use the gsr/itr belt

I think the clattering sound occurs when the valves are loose.

No, its when you detonate. My Ecu isn't tuned for Type R internals. Timming is off and air/ fuel is off. Hope the hondata fixes every thing. After I get it tuned, I'm going to post the results. Wish me luck
