Default how can you tell if the clutch cable is going bad?

anyone? i dont want to have to get a new clutch if i dont have too. i checked it out and all the rubber grommet stuff is dry and falling off. and the clutch grabs after my foot is off the pedal. also i can push the lever that actuates the clutch down a little bit, when its suppose to be down all the way? if this makes sense please give me suggestions

Either your clutch is worn...most likely.

If its is your clutch cable sticking, just get a new one, they are cheap and work so silky smooth.

Is there anything wrong with having your clutch catch right off of the floor. I think it is easier to drive that way and prevents me from riding the clutch.

I hate how honda clutches catch so HIGH up. My clutch didnt start acting right until 4 months of breaking it in and abusing it.

funny, 4 months after i started daily driving/beating on my swap one day i couldn't get the clutch to disengage by pushing in the pedal. I was sure i had stretched/snapped the cable, but after a slight adjustment i like it more now than before

the breaking rubber grommet is probably giving more slack in the clutch cable. try adjusting the cable or buy a new one (OEM of course). some people wrap the rubber in a hose clamp or wire to give a better pedal feel or reasons similar to yours.

i like how it catches right when lifting off the floor too...
