How about H-T requiring VIN #s when selling items
I don't think it's HT's place to regulate that.
Everyone is freaking out about stolen R's; I think everyone just needs to relax. I think the whole theft thing is being hyped up to be a lot more than it is.

Hmm, theft seems pretty real to me. What is there to "hype" about going out in the morning and finding your car gone?
Seems way too real to me. Most ITR items don't even have a vin number. You can't really do much about it except don't buy it if it's shady.

If I bought something off eBay that the person is saying it's from a JDM ITR, then I am trying to get rid of it on H-Tech, what do I do? give my VIN?
doesn't make sense..
I know what you mean by people selling Stolen ITR stuff, but it's just the fact of life.. I just believe that our cars and other worldly things are temporary, in the end, God'll punish those thiefs anyway (right, Dan?)
... and by that time it happened, they'll realize that they stole ITRs which means nothing, only dust...
just enjoy your car.. it's a temporary things anyway.. HeHeHe..

finding someone trustworthy on HT with a good rep might help for vouching....how widespread are members across the continent???do we have a member in every state that we can trust??
Seeing how i bought ITR seats off someone who ended getting JDM recaros, how would i supply a vin # if i ever wanted to sell them? Use his vin? I dont even know it. Or what about the ITR cams i bought brand new off someone. How would i possibly get the vin # of a part purchased from the parts department?
Only items that you could possibly get a vin # for is the engine, and perhaps suspension. Becuase those parts would only come from ITR's. But then of course they could be JDM. Its a nice thought, but its not feesable.

Geez, okay, so there has been a peak in car theft lately.
Besides, we all have insurance so why is everyone so hung up on this? Hell, I would love it if my R got stolen. I'll take the 27K from the insurance company and buy an S2K or something.
Anyways, I think everyone should just relax. Of all cars being stolen, ours are probably the safest. Thieves are better off stealing low profile cars like a Toyota Camry, etc rather than a PY ITR or a CW ITR. you Black ITR owners are phucked though j/k

I do not agree with this. Selling parts off my car and giving out the VIN. No thanks. Now if the car was totaled and I was never going to be able to drive it again, it woudl be fine. But to give the VIN of a car you drive everyday, sorry, but no...

How about limit it to blocks and transmissions and any body panels?
If you have those parts for sale, odds are you aren't driving the car.
