On my parents' 01 Civic DX, the air conditioning just stopped working two days ago. I drove to my gf's house with everything working fine. The next day, just normal air came out of the vents.
I'm not too familiar with the newer Civics, so maybe you guys can help me out here. What could be the problem?
1. Secondary A/C fan is working
2. Belt is still there and in good condition
3. Compressor is running
When I turn it on, the "load" of the engine increases as it normally should when the A/C is turned on. It makes a different sound, but alas, no cold air.
I did a quick check for fuses under the hood and under the steering column, but I couldn't find any A/C related fuse. Is it mated with another fuse? For example, on some cars, the horn and the cigarette lighter are the same, but is only marked "Cig Lighter."
Thanks in advance.

Maybe all of the fluid inside has leaked out? That happened to my parents 01 Civic EX and they had to get it checked out to see where the leak was coming from. Then that was fixed and they got it loaded up with the fluid again and it worked. Sorry I dont have much details, my dad took care of it.
are you sure that the clutch is engage on the compressor... i doubt it!!! we have lots of problem with the thermoswitch on the compressor... this switch turn on and off the clutch .... or , there is no more freon... when there is no freon, its leaking somewhere... ( most of the time )

I don't know too much about the A/C system in cars. When I turn on the A/C inside the car, it sounds like the A/C is working, only no cold air comes on. How could I determine if the clutch is engaging or not?
I thought it could be the freon, but in one day it all disappeared. It worked the night before perfectly.

its not uncommon for rocks or road debris to pop a hole in those condensers(they are pretty wide open and fragile) that may be the problem, happens more if you tailgate a lot.
